Module Settings

Set Total Height
The Total Height defines the full height of your wall system. It affects how materials and framing are distributed, which in turn influences both the Total R-value and Upfront Carbon.
To change the Total Height, go to the Module settings and click on the current height listed under 'Total Height'. You can then override the default value by entering a new height between 1000 mm and 8000 mm.
Set Contact Resistance
Under NZS 4214:2006 Thermal insulation – Housing and small buildings, Contact Resistance refers to the thermal resistance that occurs where two surfaces meet. It helps account for the small air gaps or imperfect contact between insulation and other building components, which can reduce heat transfer.
To apply a Contact Resistance, go to the Module settings and tick the checkbox for Contact Resistance. This will apply the assumption to any wall, roof or floor system, and will contribute to an increased Total R-value.
Set Cavity Bridging
Cavity Bridging is based on the idea that when a cavity is treated as an insulation layer—often due to enhanced surface emissivity, any framing within that space should be modelled to reflect its impact on thermal bridging.
To include Cavity Bridging in your calculations, head to the Module settings and tick the Cavity Bridging checkbox. This adds the assumption to the wall system and may increase the Total R-value depending on the configuration.
