Create a Space
A Space represents a thermal zone typically conditioned for occupant comfort. A Default Space is also created and adopted in all conditioned zones within the model when a Project is created. However, more advanced models will need multiple Spaces that can have a different set of inputs associated with them. These inputs include 'Occupants', 'Lights', 'Equipment', 'Infiltration', 'Thermostat', 'Humidistat', 'Sizing', 'HVAC, 'Purpose' and 'Building Class'. Where a diversity of Spaces exist in one building, they can be distributed across the model using tagging.
Use the Default Space
To adjust the default Space, navigate to 'Spaces' and select 'Space Default'. Next, tab through each input until all updates have been completed for the Space and click 'Save'.

Create a New Space
To add a new Space, navigate to 'Spaces' and select '+', next to the 'Tag' label. Next, select the 'Template' associated with the Space and then the 'Tag'. Note, Templates availability is subject to workflow. Please use Designer Mode for access to Green Star, NABERS, ASHRAE or other templates.

Next, you will need to have or to create a 'Tag'. In this example, select 'Create New Tag' from the dropdown menu and left-click 'Select' Then, your new tag a 'Title', 'Symbol' and 'Color'. Hit 'Select' and you will be returned to the Spaces area, where your new Space type will be available.

Add a Sub-space
A sub-space is a 'child' space that inherits settings from its 'parent' space. This convenience method allows for a workflow where some settings can be modified, but those not modified on the sub-space are inherited from the parent space.
To add a Sub-space, navigate to 'Spaces' and select a Space. Next, hover over the Space and select 'Create Sub-space'. Then, nominate a 'Tag' or create one click 'Select'.
