# Layers
Controlling layer visibility lets you view geometry and underlays from other drawings, making it easier to cross-reference and ensure your building is drawn accurately.
## Controlling Layers
Click ‘Layers’ in the drawing space ribbon. Choose the layer you want to view, then toggle the geometry or underlay visibility as needed. Using layers while modelling is strongly recommended, as it helps prevent errors from overlapping geometry and keeps your model clean and precise.
