# Set Humidistat

Humidistats are used to control the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems in a building to maintain desired humidity setpoints.

Humidity setpoints are typically scheduled for dehumidification and humidification throughout the day, allowing for energy-saving strategies such as adjusting humidity levels during unoccupied periods to reduce system load and improve efficiency.

## Set a Humidistat

To define a humidistat, navigate to 'Spaces' and select the 'Default' Space or any other space available. Then navigate to 'Humidistat', then click 'Create Custom'. Next, use the 'Humidifying Setpoint' and 'Dehumidifying Setpoint' sliders to set the % for the Space. By default, humidistat setpoints are constant values throughout the year. When annual variability is required, these can be defined in detail.
