# System No. 2 VAV with Reheat

A Variable Air Volume (VAV) with Reheat system, as defined in EnergyPlus HVACTemplate, is a climate control system commonly used in medium to large commercial buildings. It consists of a central air handling unit (AHU) that supplies variable volumes of cooled air through ductwork to multiple VAV terminal units serving different zones throughout the building.&#x20;

The central AHU includes cooling coils (typically chilled water), heating coils, filters, and fans to condition and distribute primary air. Each VAV box modulates airflow based on zone demand and includes reheat coils (electric, hot water, or gas) to provide supplemental heating when needed.&#x20;

The system draws outdoor air for ventilation through the central AHU, and fans distribute the conditioned air throughout the building, ensuring effective temperature control, energy efficiency through variable air volume operation, and individual zone comfort. This configuration is particularly suitable for applications where centralized air handling with multi-zone control and energy-efficient VAV operation is preferred.

A VAV with Reheat system comprises:

* Plant HVAC component - Condenser Water Loop, Chilled Water Loop, Hot Water Loop and Air Handling Unit
* Space HVAC component - Air Terminal

The 'Select HVAC Template' form allows for multiple Spaces to be served. Clicking into the 'Spaces' field shows a list of available Spaces. Each selected Space will have one VAV Terminal Unit with Reheat Space HVAC component, providing individual zone climate control.
